A beeswax wrap, also known as a "bee wrap," is a piece of cotton fabric coated with beeswax, oil, and tree resin.
The wrap we offer, from the brand Chef Exqii, is made with certified organic products and is 100% crafted in France, from design to production, using French ingredients: the GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric is coated with French beeswax, Landes Pine resin, and organic Sunflower oil.
The bee wrap provides an artisanal and responsible solution for wrapping food healthily while promoting our French economy and preserving our environment.
Each year, 1 million tons of aluminum are found in our trash, and 120,000 tons of kitchen waste come from packaging. Furthermore, aluminum becomes harmful when it comes into contact with acidity. As for the plastic in cellophane stretch films, it is a source of endocrine disruptors. Aluminum foil and cellophane are as harmful to humans as they are to the planet.
Using a beeswax wrap is very simple: wrap, wash, reuse.
You can use your Bee wraps as soon as you open the package. The warmth of your hands will soften the fabric, allowing you to mold the wrap as you wish to cover your dishes, food, sandwiches, or kids' snacks. Once it cools, it stiffens and holds the shape you've given it. To return it to its original shape, simply warm it in your hands again to soften it.
Keep away from flames and do not use in a microwave, as the high heat would melt the beeswax and compromise the wrap's effectiveness. Do not use it in direct contact with raw meat or fish.
On a daily basis, wash your wrap in cold, soapy water. The cold helps the fabric to stiffen, making it easier to handle during washing. Do not put it in the dishwasher or washing machine. Let it air dry. If you need to reuse it immediately, dry it with a dish towel.
